VDC pays tribute to an invaluable volunteers :
Mr.Alan Cohen
We were sorry to hear of the sad demise of Alan Cohen at a ripe old age. Alan was a very good friend of our founder member Late Mr. Mamasaheb Bijwe. He was also VDC'S long standing well wisher and most consistent donor. Even though he never attended any of VDC functions he always sent his donations and good wishes every time. Alan has been kind enough to mention our charity in his will and we received a sum of £710 as a consequence.
Dr. Y.S. Pradhan
With the death of Dr. Pradhan, VDC lost a well wisher who simply loved VDC. There was hardly any function or event of VDC that Dr. Pradhan did not attend. Even into his old age he managed to complete the annual charity walk in Richmond Park and inspired us all by his presence. One of the long standing veteran members of our charity, he was a regular donor and his donations continue annually through his estate.
VDC Completes 30 successful years of Charity!
Village Development Council (VDC) charity completed 30 years of successful service to community. Congratulations to all its members!
Celebrations took place in the AGM held on 13th June, 2009 at St Lawrence Church Hall.
In the AGM, a Memorial Service was held in remembrance of late Shri. Y. M. Bijwe founder of VDC. He led a remarkable life always working for the people in need, back home in India. Speeches were given by his son, friends and colleagues that touched our hearts, followed by melodious songs. Certificate of Appreciation was presented to 5 year old Neil who completed the 11 KM charity walk.
New Committee Members were elected, followed by National Anthem. The evening ended with tasty & delicious snacks, cheese, food and wine.
